HISTORY OF KUMARAPURAM

Kumarapuram is a small village In palakkad.Kumarapuram is glorified by the presence of Lord Venkitachalapathy Temple( Lord Balaji).Centuries ago Brahmins migrated from Tamilnadu to villages in Palakkad. One such village is Kumarapuram which lies between Kalpathy, Ambikapuram and Chokkanathapuram. This village on the Banks of Nila river is also famous for vedic learning. The main Deity of this village is Lord Venkatachalapathy and the rituals done in this temple has perfect identity with that of Tirumalai Tirupathy Balaji Temple. It is also believed that this temple has affiliations with "Kumaran" - Lord Subramania, since the village bears the name "Kumarapuram".
